Form of workWe are looking for a compassionate and proactive Social Worker to fulfil statutory functions and ensure the safeguarding and support of individuals within the London Borough of Sutton. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to intervene, promote social change, and provide appropriate information and advice to facilitate positive outcomes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as an officer of the Local Authority and execute statutory functions to safeguard individuals and promote positive outcomes in accordance with legal requirements.
- Work in partnership with individuals, families, professionals, and agencies to develop holistic intervention plans and promote social change.
- Intervene to safeguard individuals at risk of harm, abuse, or neglect, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maximise the independence of individuals by providing support, guidance, and access to appropriate services and resources.
- Provide individuals with accurate information and advice about third-sector and universal services available to support positive outcomes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in statutory social work functions, including safeguarding and support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice.
- Commitment to promoting social change, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and maximising independence.
