TTM Healthcare Solutions are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist for lucrative permanent work for a unique role based in Galway.
This new and unique role consists of the following:
* 50% allocation within the existing Speech and Language Therapy Team that provides services to adults with an intellectual disability across Galway city and county. For both elements of the role, clinical supervision and support is provided by SLT Manager of this organisation.
* 50% allocation for interagency Housing Demonstration project in Ireland-West Region.
About the organization: This organization provides a wide range of high-quality community-based services for children and adults with an intellectual disability and autism throughout Galway City and County. Services provided are day services, residential, short break respite services, supported self-directed living programmes, outreach services, community supports, educational, rehabilitative training and multi-disciplinary supports.
Under the HSE National Service Plan 2022, funding has been approved for an innovative Housing Project with a primary aim to establish a pathway to planned residential services for adults with intellectual disability in Galway City and County. The Living My Life Housing Demonstration Project seeks to develop a Rights-Based approach to housing, facilitated through person-centred supports, community inclusion and enablement, resulting in the provision of 32 residential places over the course of 5 years in Galway City and County. This project was officially launched on the 3rd November 2023.
Position Overview: The Speech and Language Therapist will work both as part of a multidisciplinary team for the Living My Life Demonstration Housing Project, and the Speech and Language Therapy Team in an organisation. The SLT will provide a service to adults availing of services across Galway city and county. The Speech and Language Therapist will work within a person centred framework alongside the people supported, their support teams and families. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the evolving role of SLT.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Registered as a Speech & Language Therapist at CORU.
* Minimum of 3 years post graduate clinical Speech and Language Therapy experience, including experience of supervision of SLT colleagues
* Experience in working with adults with intellectual disability
* Hold a FEDS qualification
* Full driving license with access to your own vehicle (mileage will be paid at the appropriate rate)
