We have an exceptional opportunity for a driven Senior Structural Engineer to join one of the UK’s leading chartered civil and Structural Engineering consultancy business based in Luton area.

Main Responsibilities for the successful Senior Structural Engineer:

This position involves overseeing various projects and managing a team of graduate engineers. The ideal candidate will bring leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for progression and mentoring junior professionals.

• Take charge and oversee projects spanning various sectors such as residential, commercial, public, educational, and temporary works design, ensuring successful execution from conception to completion.
• Cultivate and uphold robust relationships with clients and architects, actively engaging in the development of new project proposals and participating in fee reviews.
• Perform initial conceptual and feasibility stage designs, followed by the preparation of thorough reports and DTM presentations.
• Independently check and review detail designs to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Assess contractor tender submissions and offer valuable recommendations to clients.
• Perform routine site inspections throughout crucial structural construction phases to verify safety measures and compliance with design specifications.
• Offer leadership and direction to a team consisting of graduate engineers, technicians, and other professionals engaged in a project.
• Must be local to our offices or within easy commuting distance. We have found that people who suggest they are willing to relocate rarely do and tend not to stay with the company for long.
• Must be used to working on a variety of projects from small works such as loft conversions and extensions through to large multi-million-pound developments.
• Must be used to working in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
• Must be able to prepare Structural Reports for domestic and commercial projects.
• While having a chartered Structural engineer is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Main requirements for the successful Senior Structural Engineer:

• Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering degree.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant Structural Engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and experienced in working with design codes.
• Strong conceptual design skills and ability to work in 3D.
• Excellent attention to detail with proficient sketching ability.
• Practical attention to detailing.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  Demonstrated capability in overseeing multiple projects, working autonomously, and fostering effective collaboration within a team.

What we offer to the successful Senior Structural Engineer:

• Competitive Salary £50,000- £60,000 per annum
• Monday to Friday
• Remuneration and benefits are open to negotiation but after a probation period include private health cover and also separate life cover.
