Senior Supply Chain Manager

Location: Bakkavor Bourne
Salary:£73,000 to £83,000 based on experience
Benefits: Car allowance £8,400, Pension, Family Healthcare and Bonus up to 20%
Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm
Contract type: Permanent.

Bakkavor Bourne specialises in making prepared fruit, stir fry mixes, leafy and dressed salads. It employs over 1,100 people and forms part of the Bakkavor Meals sector in the UK.

As Supply Chain Manager, you’ll manage the planning, logistics and Supply Chain functions for the Bourne business, using consistent KPIs to ensure 100% customer service, optimum capacity utilisation and working capital. Through targeted labour and material efficiency, you’ll ensure the delivery of forecasted profit for the site.

Duties will include:

  • Departmental Performance - Ensure department maximises the use of systems advised by the group.
  • Process performance - Deliver accurate forecasts, capacity models and in collaboration with the manufacturing team ensures compliance to all planning systems.
  • People development – Ensures site teams are locally managed and sustainable whilst leading the managers to act pro-actively to the broader Meals sector agenda.
  • Health, Safety, Environment & Hygiene - Ensures the Health, Safety, Environment & Hygiene policy standards achieved.
  • Continuous Improvement – Delivers the Planning, Logistics and Supply Chain PIP and ensures all initiatives support the manufacturing strategy and business plan.
  • Development Process – Participates and coaches others to be pro –actively involved with the Customer and the NPD process.
  • Communication – Creates environment for effective two-way dialogue and contribution
  • Key Performance Indicators - Ensures KPIs are used to drive performance and benefits

About you:
  • Leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment. Lead and motivate site team managers, driving individual functional performance.
  • Understands planning, procurement/materials control, logistics techniques and systems.
  • Ability to mentor and influence peers.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical capability.
  • Commercial awareness.
