POST TITLE: Senior Support Worker – This is a temporary post for two years which could lead to a permanent position
RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager/ deputy manager
The Ideal Candidate:
- At least 4 years experience in social care
- Already holds or willing to undergo an enhanced PVG disclosure. If required, an overseas criminal record check will need to be disclosed where the candidate would need to provide this a cost to them
- Able to work using own initiative
- Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills
- High standard of written and spoken communication
- Experience of working in the UK
- Can clearly speak and understand English
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Providing person centred care and support with a focus on maximising the independent living skills of adults with Cerebral Palsy and neurological conditions meeting the physical needs of our service users
To work as part of the staff team (all grades) to provide high quality care and support and to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for service users.
DUTIES OF THE POST
To carry out all duties in accordance with the organisational and operational policies and procedures of the Rotary Residential and Care Centres (RRCC).
Adhering to the principles outlined in the Scottish Social Services Code of Practice and the Health and Social Care Standards relevant to the service.

4. EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Degrees or diplomas obtained abroad are acceptable if they are of equivalent standard to UK qualifications.
Qualifications suitable for SSSC registration (at Senior Support Worker level), e.g. SVQ Level 3/4 in Care or Health & Social Care or equivalent.

To be able to achieve registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (or other relevant regulatory body) upon appointment and to achieve any require qualifications for registration within a realistic time frame.

To have a genuine interest in, and, an open flexible approach to, the promotion of excellent standards of care for adults with cerebral palsy.

To be able to work over a shift rota including days, evenings and weekends. (including sleepovers)

To drive the transport taking service users to appointment, outings etc
