About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Estates Surveyor, ideally RICS accredited or working towards RICS accreditation, who is willing to take on varied and challenging tasks. 

You will support regeneration / development activity, manage the Council's land and property assets as part of the commercial property portfolio, as well as working on the sale and acquisition of land and property. The role will provide a range of duties aligning outcomes with the Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan.

These are exciting times in Rotherham with our flagship Forge Island development nearing completion (www.newforgeisland.co.uk) and unprecedented levels of regeneration taking place across the Borough.

The Estates Team is an energetic and forward-thinking group of professionals tasked with developing the existing property portfolio and maximising the capital and income generation opportunities of Council assets. We are committed to making a positive difference and apply innovative solutions to maximise the performance of these assets.

About you

The successful candidate will bring experience and professional acumen in operational and commercial property management to the role. You will have experience and understanding of dealing with a variety of public, private and third sector stakeholders in a complex organisation.

Experience of working in a political environment; knowledge of current best practice; the ability to resolve challenging property issues and to collaborate effectively with colleagues across a range of Council services is essential.
