Our client has been established for over 100 years, and has been a leader in their field for many years. There is some large growth happening across the business and a key role has opened up for a Senior Systems Analyst to join their small IT team of 12 in their Dublin office.

To be successful in this particular role you should have expertise in delivering advanced analytical services, defining requirements, and maintaining computer applications/systems. The ideal candidate will be adept at providing services that align with client IT and business needs.

Responsibilities and Key Competencies:

  1. Application Upgrades and Implementation:

    • Identify new functionality and hardware requirements for application upgrades and implementations.
    • Develop comprehensive test plans, review and validate functionality, and report any issues.
    • Create and manage cutover plans, evaluating impact and coordinating efforts across multiple platforms as needed.
  2. Data Confidentiality/Security:

    • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
  3. Data Quality:

    • Ensure data quality is upheld consistently.
  4. Documentation:

    • Produce detailed documentation for new and moderately complex processes.
    • Extract and document customer/business requirements for use by enterprise architecture and engineering teams.
  5. Process Improvement:

    • Manage process improvement efforts and update processes as necessary.
    • Recognize and act upon opportunities for process improvements independently.
  6. Project Management:

    • Take ownership of projects, distribute tasks to team members, and meet milestone completion.
    • Update project management and time tracking tools accordingly.
  7. Report Writing/Analysis:

    • Write and analyze complex reports, modify reports as needed, and mentor less experienced team members.
    • Communicate with the business and act as a business analyst.
  8. SDLC (System Development Life Cycle):

    • Possess a proficient understanding of multiple system/application development life cycles.
  9. Second and Third Level Support (Including Maintenance Activities):

    • Independently triage and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 support issues.
    • Act as a mentor to less experienced staff in issue resolution and problem management.
  10. System Integration:

    • Coordinate tasks and resources related to system integration, validation of testing, and implementation.
  11. Other Duties:

    • Collaborate with staff, users, and senior management in reviewing new and existing projects, systems designs, and plans.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with modern technology and application support.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology fundamental tools and concepts (SDLC).
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python.
  • Experience with code inspection, debugging tools, unit testing, and database management systems.
  • Ability to analyze, create tests, and develop specifications and requirements for developers and programmers to follow
