An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Tax and Trust Executive to join our team. This senior role encompasses extensive trust administration and accounting, as well as comprehensive tax work, including the preparation of tax returns and associated compliance. The position offers client contact and the potential to extend beyond the core responsibilities.
Day to Day of the role:
- Preparing and submitting Trust and Estate tax returns, personal tax returns, and related tax calculations using IRIS software.
- Corresponding with clients, HM Revenue & Customs, and third parties as required.
- Monitoring and adhering to tax–related deadlines.
- Preparing Trust accounts and monitoring deadlines for Trusts and Estates, such as ten–yearly charges and beneficial entitlements.
- Managing day–to–day administration for clients.
- Completing Inheritance Tax returns for Trusts and Estates.
- Providing ad hoc advisory work, including advising on Trust distributions.
- Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior staff members.
- Performing additional tasks as required by the firm.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A professional qualification such as STEP, ATT, CTA (part–qualified considered).
- Over 2 years of significant experience in a private client or trust department in a client–facing role.
- Ability to work accurately, prioritise tasks, and adhere to critical deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Proactive and ambitious, with a willingness to challenge in the best interest of the client.
- IT literate with experience in case management and tax software, ideally IRIS.
