The main responsibilities of the Senior Tax Manager/Head of Tax role will be achieving strategic and operational delivery of a challenging tax portfolio.

As the Head of the tax team, you will nurture relationships with a diverse client portfolio. You will take ownership of the team’s workload and distribute accordingly, ensuring all work meets the correct requirements before it reaches directors for final sign off.

The Position:

We’re looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join a friendly team at an independent accountancy firm.

The type of advice you will be able to confidently deliver is :

Tax Consultant:

i) Manage on-going HMRC investigations (Such as IR35 cases)

ii) Business incorporations (mainly property partnership incorporations)

iii)Capital Gains calculations

iv) EMI scheme advice & set-up (including the annual submission of EMI400)

v) Company restructures (Such as share transfers, share-for-share exchange, other company secretarial related tasks)

vi) Mergers / De-mergers

vii) IHT planning (involving the advice & set up of Trusts)

viii)Seeking HMRC clearance on various tax matters

Team Development 

• Ensuring appropriate team staffing levels
• Recruitment of any Tax team members
• Training the team to enable the tax department to complete all types of Tax related projects
• Program for additional external training if required
• Performance management
• PDRs for the tax team
• Adequate review and feedback

Qualifications:

• CTA/ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified
• Previous mixed tax experience in a similar role with a practice environment is essential
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to carry out research into complex are of Tax legislation
