Annual Statutory Accounts – Preparation and Audit
Responsibility for the preparation of the UK GAAP financial statutory accounts for the in-scope Human Health, Animal Health and Technology Solutions entities. The employee will be required to prepare the accounts, manage audit requests and update the financial statements accordingly to ensure a compliant set of accounts is filed with Companies House on time.
Corporate Tax Compliance – Internal and External Reporting
Corporate Tax tasks will entail:
- Collaborating closely with EY providing the information needed by EY to prepare the annual corporate tax return calculations, reviewing the draft calculations and ensuring accurate and compliant returns are filed on time to HMRC.
- Calculating quarterly corporation tax payments on accounts, ensuring these are made on time and in line with HMRC guidelines.
- Preparing and posting quarter end tax provisions in SAP based on US GAAP numbers and completion of the subsequent tax reporting in i-tax.
Transfer Pricing
- Responsibility for the completion of the annual LRD (Human Health) and EBIT (Animal Health) reviews, preparation of the associated adjustments and review of the final postings in the system.
- Management of updates to intercompany transfer prices in the system (annual and ad hoc updates) to ensure alignment with our intercompany agreements and to help minimise annual LRD adjustments.
- Provision of information and collaboration with EY to support the annual transfer pricing reporting requirements upon finalisation of the statutory accounts.
Research and Development Expenditure Credits (RDEC)
Collaboration with Deloitte on the preparation and filing of RDEC claims for the relevant in-scope UK entities.
Monthly, Annual and Ad Hoc External & Internal Reporting Requirements
- Preparation and submission of periodic submissions for the National Statistics Office (NSO).
- Support for ad hoc audits and projects aligned to their areas of responsibility (tax, transfer pricing, VMD, group and statutory accounting).
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified in accounting or tax (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical experience ideally within a tax and statutory accounting role
- Fluent in English (proficiency level) and excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Advanced Excel skills a must; SAP would be beneficial
- A high standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A desire to upskill and embrace new technologies and ways of working
