Senior Embedded Test Development Engineer, Cambridge, salary negotiable dependant upon experience.


An excellent opportunity for a capable Embedded Test Development Engineer to join a high calibre multi-disciplined R & D driven technology company whose IP and technology is used in high end mobile devices, drones, autonomous vehicles and consumer electronic devices around the world.


They are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Embedded Test Development engineer to join a growing team of world-class engineers, who will make their mark on ultra precise imaging and positioning control technology.


They are particularly looking for someone who is passionate, interested, and interesting and able to play a role in a highly skilled team, finding efficient ways to solve problems and ensure quality whilst balancing the needs of multiple products and projects.


Main Responsibilities


  • Work within a mixed discipline Engineering R & D team to build on proprietary test solutions to improve product quality, efficiency, results tracking and traceability.
  • Writing test specifications, test scripts and defining test cases to evaluate and verify proprietary Hardware, Firmware and Software systems.
  • Expand the existing automated testing infrastructure and contribute to the testing software which provides testing capabilities across the company.
  • Improve the methods and procedures to enhance our ability to deliver successful products.
  • Investigating failures found by the automated test system and try to solve them.
  • Maintain the automated testing infrastructure.


You will need -


Essential


  • BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or other relevant degree course
  • 3+ years demonstrable industrial experience and achievements
  • Testing of embedded firmware or software
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test cases
  • Defining test plans which ensure test coverage.
  • 3+ years’ experience of one or more programming/scripting languages such as C#/Python/bash/Powershell, etc.
  • Configuring and managing continuous integration (CI) systems


Desirable:


  • Understanding of mechanical systems and experience in testing them
  • C# development experience
  • Previous experience working in commercialisation of a product.
  • Hands-on experience in black-box testing
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum continuous development software life cycle models
  • Version Control in a collaboratieve environment
  • Experience of Hardware in the loop testing
  • Experience of Electronic hardware testing
