As these are hybrid roles, you may be required to work on a client site for a day from time to time (Manchester, Bristol, London) for client workshops and events. In the longer term there may be a requirement for on-site work to increase but the majority of work will still be remote. All applicants must also hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (SC) level.
Your future duties and responsibilities
As UX/UI Designer youll be a key member of the Digital Delivery team, responsible for ensuring that the service being developed is aligned to Government design patterns, design system and style guides.
Among other tasks, you will:
Demonstrate your work to key stakeholders via Show and Tell and Sprint reviews, proving the value of your work and how it delivers benefits to the stakeholders and business
Create low to hi fidelity service prototypes for the service which are aligned to Government Service Standards and WCAG2.2 Accessibility standards
Act as liaison at a service and/or programme level with the Accessibility team
Supervise and support more junior members of the User Centred Design team
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Skills:
As UX/UI Designer, youll need the following skills:
Strong communication, technical and non-technical
Stakeholder management at various levels
Ability to identify the most simple design approach
System design for use across multiple services
Ability to apply a digital understanding to work
Evidence and context-based design
Experience in using a variety of methods of prototyping
Prototyping sharing best practice and coaching others
User focus - give direction on which tools or methods to use
Leadership providing guidance and coaching others where necessary
Technical:
HTML coding
Heroku
MIRO/Mural
Prototyping tools; Figma, Sketch or similar
