Job Purpose
 
The role, within EMEA CCB Corporate finance, will be focus on working with the Export and Agency Finance (“EAF”) team in supplementing the EAF product’s ability to work on origination and execution of EAF transactions relating to CCB clients in EMEA. EAF operates as a global platform to structure, arrange, underwrite, syndicate and lend under bespoke debt financings that defease risk through credit and political risk support from Official Agencies (multilateral development banks, development finance institutions and export credit agencies) and/or accessing their funding, lending or interest support programs. 
 
The role will be focus on EMEA supplementing the EAF product’s ability to work on origination and execution of EAF transactions relating to CCB clients. The selected candidate will be co-located with the regional EAF team, but will remain part of the wider CCB Corporate Finance group and will have a direct responsibility to enhance EAF’s capacity to originate, credit approve and end-execute of EAF deals relating to CCB clients through direct involvement in these areas. 
 
Export and Agency Finance is part of the industry leading Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) division of Citi. EAF arranges short, medium and long-term structured financings (primarily focused on the longer end) and provides export financing advice to clients globally. EAF works closely with Citi's Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (BCMA) clients as well as Citi Commercial Bank (CCB), a client segment which has a high growth potential, focusing on mid-market clients in a number of geographies in APAC, EMEA, NAM and LATAM. 
  
Key Responsibilities 
The selected candidate will have the responsibility to support:
•        (i) formulation of CCB expansion strategy of EAF within EMEA and support senior management's growth ambitions within this segment, while managing interactions with CCB Bankers; 
•        (ii) identification of opportunities and mandates to support a growth strategy related to CCB clients; 
•        (iii) execution of EAF transactions permitting a focus on CCB related deals (from origination, structuring and approvals through to client negotiation and execution and supporting negotiations with Official Agencies); 
•        (iv) Establish necessary portfolio management controls and operational processes for the guaranteed exposures with CCB, liaising with operations teams for efficient covenant and collateral monitoring and supporting ECA communication as necessary. 
 
Knowledge / Experience 
1. Extensive experience of origination, structuring and execution credentials for ECA supported financings (and ideally those supported by MDBs and DFIs)
2. Sound knowledge of procedures and practices of export credit agencies and ability to execute export finance transactions and communicate with Official Agencies 
3. Knowledge of mid-market client segment and key obligors in a number of geographies   
4. Knowledge of credit processes, credit underwriting experience 
5. Underwriting and syndications experience preferred
6. Corporate Finance experience
7. Project management/execution and strategy building credentials are preferred
