About the TeamWe’re a team of passionate individuals trying to make a difference, bridging the gap between digital and physical. With an office in Shoreditch, you can expect the exposed brick and ping pong table (of course) but we’re about so much more than that, we take the culture of our team incredibly seriously, and have big ambitions when it comes to what we do and how we do it.
The RoleAt Touchnote we’re making a significant investment in web and we’re looking for an experienced Web Engineer to lead our development. You will be:
- Developing our new e-commerce app experience powered by React/NextJS
- Creating and improving static site pages integrated with DatoCMS
- Implementing brand new libraries and reusable components in React
- Implementing a design language system
- Implementing solutions that look and function well on multiple devices, platforms, resolutions and orientations
- Writing clean, testable code that can be refactored
- Working closely with other engineers, the product and growth team
- Conducting diligent code review
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other members of the team
- A succinct communicator able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Highly autonomous
- Comfortable taking end to end ownership of projects
- Effective at stakeholder management
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset
- Hungry to learn, develop and be a mentor alongside our highly skilled development team
Requirements
- React, Typescript, Next.js, HTML, CSS, Git
- Some years experience working in a web development team
- Advanced Javascript knowledge (scoping, blocking, asynchronous functions)
- Experience with end-to-end front-end & unit testing and common frameworks (e.g. Jasmine, QUnit, Protractor, etc)
- Experience working within Agile processes e.g. 2 week sprints
- Nice to have: experience with DatoCMS
- Nice to have: experience with AWS (e.g. cloudfront, cloudformation)
