Senior Youth Justice Service Practitioner

Permanent, Full Time

£45,217 to £54,395 per annum

Location: Chelmsford

Working Style: Community-based worker

Your Role

As a Senior Practitioner, you are at the forefront of change, managing complex cases and guiding young people towards a brighter future. Your extensive experience in social work and criminal justice serves as a cornerstone for our service.

Your Contributions:

Expert Guidance: Offer specialist advice and professional consultation, shaping the practices of our dedicated team.

Comprehensive Assessments:Utilise Asset+ and other YOS tools to understand and support the unique journeys of young individuals.

Caseload Leadership: Oversee a diverse range of high-risk cases, ensuring adherence to National and Service Standards with precision and care.

Innovative Interventions: Develop tailored plans that resonate with young people and their families, reducing risks and preventing reoffending.

Quality Reporting: Prepare insightful reports for Court or Youth Offender Panels and take the lead in multi-agency case conferences when a social care perspective is paramount.

Risk Management: Ensure that safeguarding processes are robust and responsive, safeguarding the futures of those in our care.

Specialised Expertise: Lead by example in areas of practice, ensuring excellence and driving continuous improvement within the team.

What You Bring:

Professional Credentials: A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Care England, or a qualified Probation Officer status.

Proven Experience: A track record of impactful work with children or young adults in complex situations.

Legislative Knowledge: A deep understanding of Youth Justice, children's legislation, and the latest in regulatory practices.

Mentorship and Leadership: Experience in guiding both new and seasoned professionals, serving as a beacon of knowledge and practice.

Community Collaboration: A history of building strong relationships with partners and agencies, united in the goal of supporting our youth.

Decisive Communication: Exceptional skills in decision-making and communication, vital for articulating goals and achieving outcomes.

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.
