This a fabulous opportunity to support and nurture SEN children within a supportive and welcoming environment!
We are working with a wonderful specialist school in Whitley Bay. This school's mission is to support each student so they can overcome their complex needs by adopting a 'can do' approach and using an exciting yet supportive curriculum.
The children within this school will have education health care plans and have moderate physical difficulties, learning difficulties and/or some sensory and SEMH support requirements. It's essential you are confident in being able to support these children and that you have a positive outlook.
Each class is made up of a small group of children (around 10-11 students), you will be working alongside the other Teaching Assistant and Teacher to ensure each child's needs are met whether that's academically or SEMH. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the classroom teacher throughout the lessons. You'll be working closely with the children in each class making sure they are feeling happy, confident, and safe. You'll also be supporting the children with their learning to ensure they can flourish academically.
This can be a challenging role at times, however, it's an incredibly rewarding role where you can build a positive relationship with these children and make a lasting impact on their lives.
