Service Designer

Salary: Grade B - £39,390 (National Framework) or £44,792 (London Framework – if you are London office-based or home-based and live within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home

Contracted Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week or compressed hours/job share will also be considered

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Home-based with regular meetings in London, Newcastle or Leeds offices

What you will bring…

To be considered as a Service Designer, you will need:

- Experience of designing and maintaining services that meet user needs
- Experience of designing services in the Business to Business or Regulatory space
- Experience of rapid prototyping as part of developing new products and services, or transforming existing services
- Experience of working within multidisciplinary agile teams in complex environments
- Core design skills: sketching, journey mapping and prototyping

What you’ll be doing

As a Service Designer, you will design and maintain our end-to-end services.

Acting as custodian of our Service landscape, you will work with leaders and stakeholders to help mature our services, overseeing the end-to-end design and maintenance of services across all relevant channels or touch points.

You will help us to deliver on strategic aims and policy intent, ensuring that services fit into the agreed operating “stack”, alongside improving live services towards agreed target states based on data understanding, insight and human needs.

Additionally, you will:

- Turn interactions into simple user journeys that align with the Service Vision
- Understand our existing systems to target improvements and opportunities
- Work with QI and BA colleagues to target process-bottlenecks
- Identify user needs and track interactions across channels and organisations
- Analyse failure within services and identify root causes for that failure
