Job description

We are currently looking for a Service Desk Technician to provide software support across the firm on an 8-month fix-term contract based in our Canterbury office - plus we offer hybrid working which involves working 3 days in the office, and 2 days from home. There is an expectation to travel to other offices as required to provide support to the business.

You will be supporting over 500 colleagues with all software used across the firm, including Accountancy, Tax, Practice management and Document management software. Additional tasks include Microsoft office applications, answering and logging calls in a prompt and professional manner, resolving problems where possible and escalating where required to 3rd Line Helpdesk Support.

As a Service Desk Technician, you will need strong communication skills to understand and address user concerns effectively whilst having the ability to explain basic technical solutions which can be easily understood. You will be working closely with the Service team members and the IT Solutions Manager to share information and escalate more complex issues. By embodying these qualities and approaches, you'll contribute significantly to delivering exceptional service while aligning with Kreston Reeves policies, procedures, and values.

Key responsibilities as Service Desk Technician:

  • Understand, resolve and answer Helpdesk enquiries and support calls
  • Logs all calls within the Helpdesk software
  • Set up of a new user and adding/removing software users
  • Day to day operation of routine system monitoring
  • Responsible for monitoring allocated areas of the Kreston Reeves IT infrastructure and reporting issues to the IT Manager/IT Systems Manager
  • Understanding how the role affects the business and the firm's priorities

There is an expectation to travel to other offices as required to provide support to the business so candidates must be willing to travel.
