We are now looking to recruit a new Service Director to lead our Development & Regulation services. We are looking for someone who can provide place shaping leadership for our Planning, Economic Development, Housing and Public Protection services, driving their delivery to support a strong economy and to enhance the quality of the built and natural environment of West Berkshire.
We are looking for a candidate with the passion for place making and a successful track record in leading and developing large multi-service teams. You will play an active role within the Senior Management Team working closely with the Executive Director Place, Chief Executive and Members. You will be responsible for developing and overseeing the delivery of the Development & Regulation Services ensuring alignment against the Council Strategy.
You will need to be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, be commercially astute with an understanding and commitment to the development of policies to promote sustainable Development and community resilience.
The successful candidate will be someone with a range of relevant and transferable skills and experience which will both complement our existing Senior Management Team and provide the leadership we look for from our Service Directors.

We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.
The Council's relocation expenses scheme will apply to this post, paying a maximum of £8,000 where appropriate.
