Service Engineer

Are you an experienced Service Engineer, looking to join a more organized machine tool service provider? Do you want to be paid door to door for all the hours you work? Do you need to earn over 55K a year OTE?

As a UK agent to several respected brands, their CNC machine tools are globally recognized. They have a strong network of Service Engineers across the UK, along with 2 additional technical support staff who are office-based. They also have a head office here in the UK for operations, machine stock, and spares.
Benefits including an excellent base salary of up to 44K depending on experience, a salary review after successful probation, plus an OTE of 55K+ with overtime weekday / weekends, door to door payments, company vehicle with a choice of car or car allowance, mobile phone & laptop, 33 days holiday, and a great private pension

Responsibilities for the Service Engineer include -

• Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines including multi axis Mills and Lathes
• Routine service and inspections, as well as fault finding
• Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ballscrews, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors
• Machine leveling and alignments
• Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
• Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
• Providing end user training and customer support both remotely and on site
• Travel from home to site covering regionally to your location on service and breakdown, but be prepared to travel nationally when installation & commissioning projects are required.

They have over 15 trained technicians across the UK, along with 2 technical support staff at the end of the phone for troubleshooting support.

Product training is provided, along with job shadowing with engineers in the team

We would love to hear from suitable candidates with the following skills and experience
- Previous experience as a CNC Service Engineer, or service technician
- Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery
- Experience working with either FANUC or Siemens controls
- Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking, and equipment inspections
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license
No call out is required with this role, weekend overtime has to be pre-authorized by both client and head office before being offered out to the team.

The business is prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel are ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires someone who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return, the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements
