JOB SPECIFICATION

Job Title:Service Lead – Hounslow

Location: Hounslow office & remote working with regular travel across Hounslow and occasionally nationwide

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000

Reporting To: Contract Manager – Hounslow

Key Relationships: Contract Manager, Delivery Leads, Client Service Co-ordinator, Commissioners, healthcare stakeholders and partners, MDT Leads, MoreLife Central Operations Team, MoreLife Senior Leadership Team.

The Role: The Service Lead will work closely and flexibly with the Contract Manager and Central Operations Team and other MoreLife Contract Managers to:

· Provide leadership and management to the MoreLife Hounslow contracts, supporting the strategic development of the contract and services to enable effective and profitable growth

· Ensure the contract and services are responding to and appropriately guiding the external landscape to enable achievement of growth

· Support an effective HR strategy including the recruitment, management, training and development of staff in line with MoreLife’s vision and mission, policy and procedures

· Support on the delivery and reporting of effective governance systems including quality, information governance, safeguarding and Health and safety.

· Support on safeguarding auditing, investigations and referrals.

· Ensure regular and effective reporting of business performance and relational commissioning.

· Liaise with the Clinical Leads and the Contract Manager to continually improve and develop the service.

Key responsibilities:

Performance Management

· Support with regular monitoring and evaluation of the KPIs and the overall success of MoreLife services.

· Support with the evaluation of the success and quality of the services and provide feedback to key individuals in the central team.

· Attend review meetings with the commissioner on a regular basis and ensure there is regular communication between the meetings.

· Ensure the structure is in place to deliver KPIs.

· Generate agreed reporting of service KPIs required by the commissioner and produce Management and financial reports on request.

· In conjunction with the other Managers, develop the quality framework and systems to ensure consistency of approach across the programmes and effective KPI delivery.

Manage the team

· Ensure the highest standards of programme delivery through effective team management, monitoring of outcomes and quality improvement processes.

· Ensure the right people are assigned the responsibilities to deliver the service

· Work closely with Clinical Leads and the MDT to ensure the safe and effective delivery of the service

· To attend team meetings and contribute to the performance improvement process and other meetings as requested and appropriate.

· This includes attending monthly 1:1 meetings with the Contract Manager, and team meetings, with the following focus:

· Performance Targets – understand own contribution to agreed performance targets in line with KPI’s;

· KPI’s – individual achievement against contractual KPI’s;

· Identify areas where additional training is required.

· To take an active part in developing own knowledge and skills, and seek advice and support as and when necessary.

Marketing and Stakeholder engagement

· Ensure regular engagement with key partners who contribute to the ongoing success of the service. Develop partnerships and regular communication with referrers and other key stakeholders e.g. primary and secondary care, patient groups, commercial slimming organisations, Tier 2 and Tier 3 services, community groups and leisure services.

· To work with the Marketing and Central Teams to raise awareness on digital resources needed for the contract.

· Liaise with the central team and the Partnership & Engagement Lead to ensure engagement at a local level to increase numbers of people referred to the programme.

· Liaise with the central team to contribute to enhancements in the website including content for the members’ site and the management information required.

· Contribute to the content of the blog and social media channels.

Business Development

· To support the Contract Manager to identify potential business development opportunities.

· To be mentored by the Contract Manger to contribute to the development of.

Governance

· To support the Contract Manager with Quality & Governance Framework, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, IG and non-clinical risk across the whole of the contract.

· To support the Contract Manager and Clinical Leads to deliver the effective management of Clinical Risk Register.

· To maintain a positive attitude to Quality, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, IG and Risk in carrying out personal responsibilities and to ensure staff compliance with Health and Safety policy / local rules / Codes of practice relating to Quality Improvement, Clinical Governance, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, IG and Risk. Solution focussed.

· Adhere to local and national safeguarding procedures and act as a Safeguarding Deputy for the service.

· Awareness of the need to ensure operational costs are managed in line with budget. Liaising with the Contract Manger and Finance Manager about expenditure.

  • To actively identify with the Contract Manager efficiencies and reduction of costs through better people, productivity, safety and process improvement which produces a positive customer experience.

People

  • To effectively manage and engage MoreLife team members
  • To ensure effective management of MoreLife HR processes and recruitment for reporting roles.
  • To support MoreLife internal and external communications strategy
  • To ensure effective management of MoreLife contracts including dialogue and relationships with commissioners.
  • To identify and support the training and development of team members to meet the changing needs of the business.

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria Qualifications:

· Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

Experience & Knowledge:

· At least two years relevant operational management experience in public health or community healthcare, including the effective leadership of field-based delivery teams.

· Experience of the provision of public health or healthcare services to National (DH, DfE, PHE, NHS England), Local (Local Authorities, CCGs), Charities and other third sector agencies.

· Significant experience in at least three of the following and a knowledge of the remainder: provision of public services, health promotion, behaviour modification programmes, quality control, stakeholder engagement activities, research and evaluation, and project management.

· Experience in planning, implementation, monitoring and review, maintenance of records for programme delivery and continued programme development.

· Experience of working in partnership with a range of organisations particularly those in the public sector

Skills & Attributes:

· Evidence of ability to innovate in operations management to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with emphasis on report writing and presentation skills, comfortable interacting with senior professionals and clinicians.

· Excellent IT and information management skills with the ability to rapidly acquire new skills.

· Ability to use own initiative and work flexibly as part of a team to tight deadlines. In addition, an adaptable and flexible approach to work, including the ability to work evenings and weekends when required.

Desirable Criteria Experience & Knowledge:

· Experience of leading a diverse team including both clinical and non-clinical staff.

· Experience in management of health and well-being programmes across a range of business to business and business to consumer activities.

· Experience of expanding and growing a service through effective networking, business development and opportunity identification to deliver increased commercial and social impact.
