We’re looking for a Service Manager (Maintenance) to lead the delivery of maintenance and repair works across the Midlands Region, ensuring routine maintenance is well planned, and all activities, whether routine or reactive, are managed and delivered in a time manner.
The role will involve providing leadership, direction and line management for a team of professionals, fostering a culture which promotes high performance, recognises and develops talent, and upholds best practice people management.
This role can be based from either our location in Bescot in the West Midlands, or our Stirling House office in Nottingham.
This role has on-call responsibilities during critical incidents.
What you’ll be leading on
Develop and maintain the catalogue of available maintenance related services, ensuring service level requirements, emerging demands and customer expectations are reflected in contractual agreements and/or further negotiations.
Build and manage high quality cyclical maintenance work plans and resource plans.
Control and approve all M&R related spend.
Proactively track and monitor service delivery performance, working closely with Service Delivery On-Road colleagues and PMO colleagues to understand performance trends, identify risks, analyse root causes for performance issues and develop remedial action plans.
Ensure the planning cycle takes account of known events and the implications of winter and severe weather and emergency scenarios and contributes to the optimisation of network availability.
To be successful
Strong commercial acumen, with an in-depth understanding of supply chain contracts and experience in contract management.
Good financial acumen, including budget management.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience in a leadership role in a fast paced, 24/7 service delivery environment, with the ability to inspire and empower a team.
Previous highways or infrastructure experience - desirable
An engineering degree or relevant technical qualifications / experience – desirable
