Too many people pass through the criminal justice system without their mental health needs being recognised. With more than 70% of the prison population experience some level of mental distress, it’s crucial that specialist services exist to ensure that people get the care and support they need to break the cycle of offending. This is where you come in.
If you are an enthusiastic, motivated leader, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Service Manager within Liaison and Diversion. You will be part of a dedicated and dynamic team with a specific focus on delivering tailored on the day support to individuals in the court setting and the community. Being compassionate, empathetic and able to create trust and psychologically safety with the Practitioners you supervise and the people who use our services are key attributes for the role.
The ideal candidate is someone with experience of safeguarding, crisis management and managing staff in a health or justice setting. You will have a mental health qualification, preferably to a master’s level. You will be expected to work autonomously and enjoy a varied and fast paced environment engaging multiple stakeholders to ensure excellent service user outcomes.
Some key tasks in the role are:
- Line management responsibility for Liaison and Diversion Practitioners
- Quality assurance and governance through audit and reporting
- Oversight of risk management
- Budget holder responsibilities
- Building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
This is a full time post (37.50hrs) post. We are operating a hybrid model of work, part of your week would be office-based and part working from home. Your nominal basis would at our National Office in Lambeth North, but you would also be expected to visit your direct reports at their workplace regularly.
