Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

Why this job matters:
As a Service Support Professional, you will support the BT Security organisation by carrying out functions within the Asset and Configuration discipline, in support of ourselves and special customers. You will deliver and operate these services within agreed performance standards and contractual agreements whilst operating within agreed timescales and budgets.
You will be responsible for contributing to the deployment, support and maintaining a network. Also contributing to innovation and the development of process improvement initiatives. You will work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and collaborating with customers and suppliers.
What you'll do:
- Work within an Asset Management Team, but no prior experience of Asset Management is required.
- Carry out many diverse tasks, including physical activities, such as moving items, and desk-based tasks, such as entering data into spreadsheets or other systems for stock control.
- Have some personal responsibilities but mainly follow the direction of the Asset Managers.
- Drive change and innovation in working practices/processes.
- Ensures GSS reputation is upheld with customers and suppliers in delivery of work packages.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure if the occasion demands it
- Flexibility to turn your hand to different tasks and multi-task.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently.
- Full UK Driving License
- Be willing to be part of an on-call out of hours rota, rewarded with additional renumeration.
- Be able to arrive at our offices in Ipswich within 1 hour if called out for the on-call rota
- Although predominantly based in Ipswich, be flexible to work occasionally from other locations with possible over-night stays.
- ITIL Foundation
- Asset Management experience
- Ideally be able, or willing to learn, to drive vehicles such as fork-lift trucks.
