Setting Out Engineer

Your new company
You will be joining a multi-accredited main contractor based in Derby working on a range of power and industrial schemes valued up to £6m, predominantly based in the East Midlands region. This organisation has a strong pipeline of work and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development, including chartership. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Setting Out Engineer to join their team.
Your new role
As Setting Out Engineer you will be responsible for, but not limited to, understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications, resolving any unexpected technical difficulties that may arise, communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues, interacting with stakeholders, ensuring quality control requirements are met and recorded as well as Setting Out, levelling and surveying sites. You will be expected to commute and lodge at sites further afield.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will hold a degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (or experience equivalent) and ideally have at least 2 years' experience Setting Out groundworks, drainage and/or RC works. In addition, you will hold a CSCS card, full UK driving licence and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Finally, you will have excellent attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively with a range of other professionals including clients, construction managers and other engineers.
