Job Title: Shift Manager
An opportunity has arisen within the Production Management team for an energetic and forward-thinking individual with a desire to lead a team.
For the successful Shift Manager, our client is offering:
- £42,662 P/A
- Overtime paid at (DOUBLE/TIME)
- Shift Pattern: 8-week, 12-hour rolling shift pattern (including days and nights) with very generous time off between each week.

The role – Shift Manager:
To support the Production & CI Manager and his immediate team to achieve production KPIs, shift targets, and to perform the duties listed below;
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of all personnel on the shift.
- Carry out Health and safety assessments; ensure correct PPE is issued and always worn.
- Set and review daily performance targets with operators.
- Measure & challenge performance targets at agreed intervals throughout the shift
- Conduct regular MDI level 2 meetings to monitor performance and investigate downtime & waste issues as they occur providing preventative actions where possible.
- Implement changes to improve efficiencies in all Production Departments in conjunction with the Production & CI Manager and Production Improvement Coordinator.
- Report quality issues
- Report machine breakdowns to maintenance & raise in SAP.
- Responsible for the general discipline of the shift by managing time and attendance, monitoring absence and return to work interviews. Monitor and control breaks.
- Control manning levels across all shifts.
- Review and monitor training requirements for the team.
- Take part in continuous improvement activities, 5s, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Site security – including closing the factory in line with shift patterns.
- Work a rotating pattern and demonstrate flexibility to cover other shifts when required.
What our client is looking for in a Shift Manager:
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role (Production/manufacturing management)
- SAP Experience would be desirable.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office.
- Good communication skills, timekeeping, and attention to detail
