Aufgaben
The Shift Manager oversees and co-ordinates all activities within the pre-cast segment factory on a shift rotation basis. The Primary focus of this role is to manage the health, safety and welfare of the shift team. Works include assembly of reinforcement cages, concrete casting and mould preparation, crane operations, segment repair works and overall logistics as well as co-ordination of planned preventative maintenance activities.
- The specific role involves management of a tunnel segment production line and reinforcement cage fabrication facility.
- Ensure full compliance with the STRABAG control of works processes and procedures.
- Drive a culture of behavioural safety, demanding the highest standards from the team.
- Ensure that all members are trained and competent to undertake their role.
- Coach and mentor the team members, driving continual personal improvement.
- Ensure that all activities are delivered in accordance with the approved RAMS.
- Contribute to the production and updates of safety documentation, ensuring that best industry practice is being applied to each task.
- Implement the MOC process to manage the associated risks relating to change of task or condition.
- Undertake audits and inspections, ensuring that any findings are closed out effectively.
- Align resources, plant and materials with production requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement / LEAN principles assessments and implementation.
- Deliver clear and concise shift briefings to all team members, allocating roles and responsibilities to align with the works.
- Lead and/or contribute to incident investigations should they arise.
- Management of shift rotas, absence management and allocation of resources.
- Co-ordination of planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Ensure that only authorised works discussed in the SOS briefing are undertaken and that all required isolations and permits are in place.
- Organise routine procurement and stock control.
- Manage quality and site records.
- Recruitment of personnel to deliver the project work scope.
- Production of shift reports and delivery of shift handovers.
Qualifikationen
CSCS Card (relevant type)Minimum H&S Qualification – SMSTS (Working towards IOSH / NEBOSHNVQ or similar in Management
5+ years management / leadership experience Previous experience in Construction or Manufacturing Industry Excellent communication skills Team and resource management Ability to work under pressure High Health and Safety standardsHigh quality standardsGood knowledge of applicable laws and legislation, including but not limited to the following: HASAWA 1974 (Particularly section 2 and 7)The Mines Regulations 2014 (particularly part 2 H&S Management)CDM 2015 (particularly part 3 – H&S duties and roles and Part 4 General requirements for construction sites).
