Job Description
-We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Operator to join our Synthesis Team to focus on the production of our synthetic diamond materials through chemical vapour deposition (CVD) at our Ascot site.
You’ll need to be available to work 12-hour shifts across a 24-7 rotating shift pattern, varying between days and nights.
Reporting into the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of our equipment whilst working in a busy and agile environment, ensuring safety first at all times in line with our zero-harm goal.
We are seeking an Operator who can work in a methodical manner, following established procedures with a right first-time approach.
Duties will include;
- Setup and operation of equipment in-line with standard operating procedures.
- Incoming quality control of raw materials and inline quality control throughout process to Synthesis, ability to work with small tools, working to tight tolerances, small pieces and undertake volume manufacturing.
- Coordinate measuring machine, seeding, plasma & carburising substrates as well as raw preparation and repreparation as required
- Plan, organise, control and maintain Kanban system to ensure continued supply to Synthesis.
- To apply world class manufacturing approaches such as 6S, standardised work & visual management.
- Provide updates to safe working procedures for continuous improvement of our processes
- Updating digital training system
Qualifications
-The role will require you to work both independently and have the flexibility to support other team members where required.
You'll have the confidence to challenge how we currently do things and implement improvement actions in a controlled way.
Experience in a hands-on technical role is desirable but full training will be provided with opportunities for ongoing upskilling and development.
