Shipping Coordinator

My client is an international metals business with a worldwide reputation for quality and due to continued growth they are looking to recruit a Shipping Coordinator on a full time/permanent basis into their facility in Sutton Coldfield.

Working a 40hr week - 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, you will become part of a close knit team helping my client deliver the absolute best service to their impressive list of clients all around the world.

Main duties

• Run the range to allocate the work to production facility
• IP works orders as they come into the department ensuring stock is downdated accurately and scrap is allocated correctly
• Create BOLs (Bill of Landing) for all works orders accurately and efficiently
• Obtain costs and quotes for each delivery
• Negotiate rates with hauliers and freight forwarders
• Ensure all paperwork is processed in line with promise dates
• Create shipping headers and produce all relevant export/UK shipping documentation
• Communicate with outside haulage and shipping companies to ensure a smooth handover of the goods takes place with all necessary documentation provided
• Communicate with the dispatch team to ensure the correct material is pulled and loaded
• Ensure freight costs are correct and added to the system to ensure goods can be invoiced correctly by finance Scan all documentation to the system in line with company and customer processes
• Communicate with sales to ensure correct shipping terms are aligned to the orders and the goods incur no delays due to in-house errors
• Identify any issues and resolve them before for the goods leave site to ensure we can maintain customer satisfaction
• Ensure all filing is organised and relevant information stored correctly to maintain legal compliance
• Manages and maintains the relevant OBS statuses to ensure work does not exceed 5 days
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures
• Will become a trained signatory to ensure quality compliance when signing off shipping documents Ensures 5s standards are maintained at all times
