Shipping Specialist And Administrator

Role: Shipping Specialist and administrator
Location: Exeter (onsite role)
Salary: £30-35k
Job Purpose:
You will work across the business and with our external shipping agents to complete all paperwork and legal requirements to complete customs entries and associated documents in a timely manner to ensure the smooth movement of end-to-end consignments.
Please be aware there is admin connected to this role and we will consider a person who is in shipping or has strong understanding of the shipping with an interest to develop further.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Duties:
Dealing with Sea freight, air freight and road freight imports, exportsLiaising and maintaining relationships with third party freight forwarders and agentsAwareness of customs entries, proceduresEnd to end monitoring of shipmentsReconciliation of HMRC Management Support System reports to shipments including collection and maintenance of all shipping documentation as required, including signatures, way bills , declarations, tracking information etcAwareness of shipping costingCreate, manage and track all shipping Carnet'sLegal awareness of shipping processes and proceduresLiaising with shipping agentsUpdating all departments on their shipmentsCheck pending clearances that are being examined or held in bonded warehousesDealing with domestic and international shipping via, DHL and FedExDeal with queries or Customs post actions as appropriatePreparation of quarterly insurance declarations for tools movementsAny other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting managerMinimum Requirements:
Experience of import, export within a commercial environmentAbility to grasp procedures/processes quickly.Ability to communicate well both verbally and in the written formAbility for pay attention to detail and work in an accurate and methodical wayAbility to handle pressure and good time-managementAbility to adapt to change and work effectively as part of a teamExperience in customs is an advantageBenefits:
