Role: Shipping Specialist
Location: Exeter (onsite role)
Salary: 30-35k pro rata
Part time: 30 hrs 09.00 - 15.00 each day on site
Job Purpose:
You will work across the business and with our external shipping agents to complete all paperwork and legal requirements to complete customs entries and associated documents in a timely manner to ensure the smooth movement of end-to-end consignments.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Duties:
Dealing with Sea freight, air freight and road freight imports, exports
Liaising and maintaining relationships with third party freight forwarders and agents
Awareness of customs entries, procedures
End to end monitoring of shipments
Reconciliation of HMRC Management Support System reports to shipments including collection and maintenance of all shipping documentation as required, including signatures, way bills , declarations, tracking information etc
Awareness of shipping costing
Create, manage and track all shipping Carnet's
Legal awareness of shipping processes and procedures
Liaising with shipping agents
Updating all departments on their shipments
Check pending clearances that are being examined or held in bonded warehouses
Dealing with domestic and international shipping via, DHL and FedEx
Deal with queries or Customs post actions as appropriate
Preparation of quarterly insurance declarations for tools movements
Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager
Minimum Requirements:
Experience of import, export within a commercial environment
Ability to grasp procedures/processes quickly.
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in the written form
Ability for pay attention to detail and work in an accurate and methodical way
Ability to handle pressure and good time-management
Ability to adapt to change and work effectively as part of a team
Experience in customs is an advantage
