Single Point of Contact Worker

Newcastle Treatment & Recovery (NTaR) is multi agency team delivering drug and alcohol treatment for the residents of Newcastle. We pride ourselves on being safe, inventive, creative and have the needs of the community and service users at the heart of what we do.
About the role
We are currently recruiting a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Worker to join our team at Newcastle Treatment & Recovery. Our team provides support for individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use. As part of the role, your primary responsibility is ensuring timely and comprehensive responses to enquires entering the service via our referral process. You will...
Use strong administrative skills to process referrals and categorise enquiries.
Provide exceptional customer service when contacting individuals who are referred via a third party within set timescales and responding to self-referrals into treatment.
Maintain accurate records and work in accordance with organisational guidelines and procedures.
Complete triages using standardised assessment forms and assess these accurately to pass them onto the most relevant team within the partnership. Some of these triages can take place face to face but primarily take place over the phone, but also include completing triages for individuals who have been instructed to attend the service following a positive Drug Test on Arrest (DTOA).
Use good communication skills to liaise with third party organisations and teams within the wider partnership at NTaR.
About you
To succeed in the SPOC worker role we would like you to have the following skills and attributes:
Strong Administrative skills.
Ability to work with disadvantaged/vulnerable people.
Ability to deal with a range of queries from service users, professionals, family members and carers.
Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing people who misuse substances
Understanding of and ability to implement risk assessments.
Ability to keep effective records including documenting relevant information onto a management information system.
Understanding of safeguarding issues for children and vulnerable adults
Employ a mature, sympathetic, non-judgemental attitude towards Service Users and their family.
Ability to respond to a range of calls, including high risk and those in crisis.

The salary advertised above demonstrates the full earning potential for this role, starting salaries will allow for pay progression within the pay band.
