Known as project Oriel, the new 39,500m² hospital will be built near King’s Cross at the site of the former St Pancras Hospital. Bouygues UK are the preferred contractor for the project, Bouygues UK, has developed a full construction programme with the building due to open in 2027. As we build our team and we will need a Site Engineer based on site. This is a fantastic ground floor opportunity to work with a dynamic team with excellent opportunities to develop and grow within the business.
Essential:
- Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Construction discipline
- Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn
Job Purpose and Scope
Responsible for ensuring effective and efficient construction within set timescales, including quality and health & safety management.
Accountabilities and key tasks:
- Be involved with the tender process and procurement of subcontractors for his/her specific area of works
- Update the works programme for the area of responsibility, reporting promptly to the Senior Engineer any problems which may lead to time delays against works programme
- Manage/assist the cost control of each subcontract
- Manage and coordinate work of subordinates and subcontractors within his/her area of responsibility.
- Co-ordinate and attend meetings with the design staff and subcontractors
- Manage the QVF file (quality plan of every subcontractor) and ensure work inspection records are done in compliance with it
