Skilled Operatives

To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high and safe standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and carry out job-set tasks

Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements
Use best/safe practices on all tasks carried out
Checks on any equipment that may be used
Ensure a safe tidy place of work

 Ensure the completion of work is on time

Implement best practice procedures
Maximise use of own working time
Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work

 Communication with site management

Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns
Feedback to site management with near-miss reporting
Ensure to attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks
Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks

 Key measures & targets:

Safely carry out tasks set by the site management team or ganger if part of a gang

Site operatives
Operations Manager

Person Specification:
The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
CSCS Card, CPCS/NPORES - Forward Tipping Dumper, Slinger/Signaller, Thames Water Passport, National Water Hygiene, Safety Critical Medical.
Essential

A good experience in relevant site work
Experience in general civil works (earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting)
CSCS card
Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ride-on roller/ 360 excavator
NRSWA
H+S awareness
½ day environmental awareness preferable
SSMTS preferable
1 day First Aid
