Job description

Lincolnshire County Council have an opportunity for a Skills Delivery Manager to support local secondary schools, colleges and employers and operationally manage the team that delivers the Greater Lincolnshire LEP's flagship Careers Hub programme. The role is a full-time fixed term contract ending 31st Aug 2025, however it is possible further funding will be secured to allow for the position to be extended beyond this.

About the role

About the role 

The Skills Delivery Manager (known internally as an Operational Hub Lead) sits at the heart of the Careers Hub network, set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work, to help schools and colleges improve their careers and enterprise programmes and to engage with employers. Working closely with the Strategic Careers Hub Lead, you will manage a team of seven Enterprise Coordinators (up to 6 FTE Full Time Equivalent) who effectively act as partnership managers between schools/colleges and local businesses. 

The Skills Delivery Manager will develop and lead a portfolio of activities that contribute to Greater Lincolnshire’s employment and skills objectives, as directed by the Employment and Skills Executive Manager.

 You will: 

  • Lead your team and volunteers to enable schools to provide high quality careers and enterprise education for 11–18-year-olds. 

  • Ensure that activity is aligned to locally agreed economic and skills priorities so that delivery improves career outcomes and achieves sustainable change in provision at a local and national level. 

  • Work closely with the Strategic Hub Lead and cross sector stakeholders within the careers space, driving collaboration and ensuring delivery of Greater Lincolnshire’s employment and skills objectives.

About You

You will possess strong communication and negotiation skills, making you an excellent communicator at all levels. Your adeptness at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment showcases your impressive organisational skills. In terms of leadership, you have proven management capabilities and can effectively lead a team. Your successful track record in program and project delivery within the skills sector highlights your project management expertise.

Your attention to detail and comfort with desk-based work involving processes and data management, including proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, demonstrate your meticulous nature. You are also comfortable working with digital platforms to support program delivery and management, indicating your digital proficiency. Additionally, you have experience in writing reports, creating funding proposals, and managing grant claims.  While familiarity with careers education is advantageous, it is not essential.

On joining the team, you will be well supported, but you will be able to find your feet quickly and lead your team.

As you will be mobile across Lincolnshire you will need a full valid UK Driving license and access to a vehicle.
