We are a wonderful, supportive practice located in Northampton. The practice is surrounded by 2 retail parks with several shops and restaurants. Easy parking and access by bus. Northampton is surrounded by lots of easily accessible countryside, Pitsford reservoir has as sailing club, local Rugby team The Saints and football team The Cobblers have lots of home matches. Close to Rushden Lakes, Milton Keynes, Birmingham and London for shopping. Althorp House is close by, lots of lovely country pubs as well. Short journeys to Luton airport and Birmingham international.
Our team is very friendly and made up of 2 FT Senior Vets, 2 FT assistant Vets, 1 PT assistant Vet, 1 international Vet, 2 PT Nurses, 1 Head Nurse, 4 FT Nurses, 1 VCA and 3 receptionists. The Team do occasionally meet up outside of work, we went to a bottomless Italian meal on the last occasion. A few team members use the Vitality for gym membership and go to classes together. A couple of team members are in a chair burlesque dance class, one of who was in a performance earlier this year. On wellbeing afternoons, we have - decorated Christmas Tree ornaments, had a 'spa', played games, made pancakes, down-time, arts and crafts, Easter Egg hunts.
We have digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, BP, multi-parameter monitor and O2 generator. Our peripatetic Vet (holds a Medicine, Cardiology and Imaging certificates) comes around regularly to perform heart scans, or any form of endoscopy. Cases are worked up as much as possible before any referral.
Step into a supportive start
Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition, you may also be required to participate in a weekend rota and/or an out of hour.
You will be supported by a team of experienced Vets and Nurses. We are a close team and we all support each other. We remember what is like to be a new graduate and we will help you make your journey as smooth as possible, while learning and developing your skills. In the last 4 years we have supported 2 new graduates, both are still working at the practice. One is already finishing a certificate and the other looking into starting one.
