Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Small animal practice in Scarborough seeks enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our long established growing team!

We are looking for a 7th vet to manage practice growth, and maintain an excellent work/ life balance. We are very proud to be an independent practice and offer a relaxed working environment with our emphasis firmly on providing exceptional patient and client care. We have a wonderful loyal client base and have built strong relationships with owners and their pets. When at work you will have the support of a close-knit, friendly team who are always willing to help, share their knowledge and expertise. Well equipped surgery with full colour ultrasound, bronchoscopy, gastroscopy and lab. Our full-time vets work a 4 day week, giving a great work life balance. We have two sites, our main practice is on Scalby Road, a 10 minute walk to the town centre, with a branch practice in the lovely quiet village of Cloughton, close to the welcoming cinder path connecting Scarborough to Whitby, offering work place variety.

In addition to a supportive team we offer

• Busy caseload with lovely owners and pets, many of which are insured
• Good case continuity with as much medical / surgical support or independence as needed
• Two SAS certificate holders, with a third vet progressing towards her Ophthalmology Certificate
• 4 day working week, plus share of Saturday mornings. No Sundays or Bank Holidays!
• Nice working hours, last consult is approx. 5pm. No on call after 6.30pm
• CPD to certificate level supported
• Regular social events, fully funded gym membership and access to a beach hut on Scarborough’s lovely North Bay
• Scarborough offers great local beaches, coast paths, forest and moors. Fab for cycling, walking, surfing and sailing
