Job Title: Small Works Supervisor - Fire & Security Industry
Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary Range: 40,000 - 45,000 per annum
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Small Works Supervisor to join our clients team based in Harlow, Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing small-scale fire and security projects, ensuring efficient and timely completion while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of technicians and subcontractors involved in Small Works projects, providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure project objectives are met.
- Plan and schedule work assignments, allocating resources effectively to optimise productivity and meet project deadlines.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine project requirements, identifying potential risks and developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project specifications, address concerns, and ensure alignment with customer expectations.
- Procure materials, equipment, and tools necessary for project execution, monitoring inventory levels and managing suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective procurement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice, implementing appropriate safety measures and quality control procedures to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, and resource utilisation, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, work schedules, change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Provide technical support and assistance to project teams, troubleshooting issues, resolving conflicts, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement, promoting a positive work environment and professional development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fire and security industry, with a proven track record of managing Small Works projects from inception to completion.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, door entry, intruder alarms and other security technologies.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project, AutoCAD, and ERP systems.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
