About the school:
We are working on behalf of an amazing 11-16 special educational needs school based in Tiverton who are seeking to appoint a talented, proactive and resilient Teaching Assistant. The school has an excellent reputation for providing a student-centred approach to supporting individuals with social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and autism. You will be part of a rapidly growing provision with a strong, multi-disciplinary team of like minded professionals who strive to make a difference.
About the role:
Assist in one subject area, based on your skills, experiences and areas of interest or, an interesting in supporting KS3/KS4 nurture group
Working 1:1 with students who require additional support
Interventions with small groups of young people
Monitoring behaviour and providing feedback to the teacher
Be a positive role model
Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
Previous experience working with young people with autism or SEMH needs would be an advantage but is not essential. Full training will be provided and ongoing support will be available throughout.
