Job description

Willmott Dixon is seeking a Social Value Manager to join its Sustainability Team for one year maternity cover supporting customers and construction projects in the southwest. You will play a lead role in organising and delivering community projects and supporting the delivery of careers and skills programmes across projects.

You will join our award-winning multidisciplinary Sustainability Team and report to the Regional Sustainability Lead for Wales and West. The successful candidate would be based in the southwest. It is a hybrid working role with a mix of time spent with project teams on site, visiting customers and working in our as well as working from home.

The role includes supporting the delivery of our ambitious Now or Never Sustainability Strategy as well as engaging with customers to understand and respond to their Social Value priorities.

This is an ideal role for someone highly motivated and looking to make a real difference in the communities where we work.

You will be a proactive self-starter, invigorated by challenges, and thrive in an empowered environment that values initiative and innovative thinking. Good communication and relationship management skills are a must, coupled with an energetic interest in social sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, manage and deliver Social Value activities that are tailored to customer and business needs.
  • Collaborate with other business functions (supply chain, commercial teams) to ensure Social Value is delivered through our supply chain? partners effectively.
  • Support work winning activities through inputs to bids and tenders as well as attending customer events.
  • Work with and maintain trusted relationships with customers.
  • Monitor and report performance of projects against relevant KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to embed best practice.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential

  • Able to use Microsoft suite of office programmes including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
  • Good level of education including Maths and English (both written and spoken).
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Degree educated.
  • Facilitation/Coaching experience or training.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • Social Sustainability related degree
