About Family Futures
Family Futures is a not for profit, independent adoption agency and therapy centre in London, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2022 for the fourth consecutive time. We have a reputation for innovation and offer a high-quality service - an integrated multi-disciplinary, assessment, treatment and family-finding service for children who are traumatised or have attachment difficulties.
The role
You will be part of a small team that works together and shares the tasks: recruitment of adopters, assessment, family finding and ongoing support to families. You will be involved in the development of the service and your views, and insight are encouraged.
You will be allocated cases from assessment and with a therapist from Family Futures will take applicants through the assessment process to approval and be their support in family finding, matching and post placement. You will work with our therapy colleagues post placement and be an advocate and conduit for therapeutic post placement services for our adoptive families.
We are always looking to ways to develop our service and have a working relationship with our marketing team to have lively and relevant podcasts about adoption, our offer to adopters and to spark and stimulate debate. We look forward to your input, ideas and being part of our information evenings.
Being a creative team, we are always looking for new ways of working and forming partnerships to develop services of excellence that children who need permanence deserve. We need you to be flexible, of agile mind and willing to embrace areas of work that may be new to us all.
The team meets monthly, and you will have regular informal guidance and formal supervision on a monthly basis. You will be part of the wider service of Family Futures and attend monthly Team Days to learn, share and develop the service and your practice.
We are looking for an individual who is:
- A qualified and SWE registered Social worker with some experience in the field of adoption and/or fostering.
- Has good analytical skills and be able to provide assessments that are cogent, timely and evidence based.
- The motivation to be work with families and derive satisfaction from seeing the development of adopters Not fazed by complex needs, challenges and adversity
- Embraces a parent-positive and child friendly approach
- Able to work in a small team and be a team player
- Wants to develop their knowledge base and interest in multi-disciplinary working through a therapeutic lens.
- Enjoys working with adoptive parents in groups and individually Thrives in a collaborative and integrated team environment.

Salary: £32, 000 - £40, 000 per annum.
