Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Pivot Academy.
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with traumatic backgrounds.
To complement our existing safeguarding offer, we are currently seeking a Social Worker and Designated Safeguarding Lead. This role will specifically support our Day 6 and outreach provisions by ensuring the child protection policy and other safeguarding processes and procedures are embedded.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Social Worker with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of working contextually to safeguarding children and promote wellbeing.
This is a key role to help to bridge the gap between education, social care and family links by contributing to effective partnership working to ensure families receive appropriate safeguarding services. You will work closely with the Lead Social Worker and DSL and Head of Commissioned Services to provide advice and support to young people, their parents or carer’s and at times to schools and other agencies. As the DSL, you will respond to and address any safeguarding concerns raised including making referrals to statutory agencies.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience. We welcome applications from candidates training to become qualified Social Workers.
Our sites are based in Bradley, Huddersfield, however, a significant number of our students are based in Bradford and therefore regular travel within the city would be required.
Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now by completing an application form and returning to the HR team at recruitment@pivot-group.co.uk.
