As the Complex Safeguarding Social Worker you will support the Team Manager to provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the Child Exploitation workers. You will lead on the coordination of missing children and young people in Westmorland and Furness, chairing Stage 1 Missing Meetings and leading on the development of safety plans for some of our most vulnerable children. You will chair Child Exploitation Risk Assessments meetings and will deputise in the absence of the Team Manager. You will be involved in the delivery of training to partner agencies around Child Exploitation and Missing and contribute to the development of our response to children who both at risk of exploitation and missing in Westmorland and Furness. This role also co-ordinates a caseload of more complex cases.
We are looking for someone who has extensive working knowledge and experience of supporting children at risk of exploitation, early intervention programmes and supporting colleagues in this area of work. Candidates must also have experience of partnership and multi-agency working. You will also work alongside the Social Work teams and a wide range of partner organisations to ensure effective joint working.
You will work with children, families and communities to better understand how we can support them, prevent child exploitation in our communities, equip them with the knowledge about how to identify and report exploitation and know what services there are to meet their needs.
You must have a social work qualification with at least 3 years post qualifying experience.
