Soft Services Manager

Location: Stockport based (regular travel to London & Basingstoke)

Hours: Full Time

Job Summary:

We are searching for a Site Supervisor to join the team in Stockport, responsible for coordinating FM & Soft Services to meet SLA requirements and key performance indicators. The role involves collaborating with management to implement training plans while leading, coaching, developing, and mentoring on-site cleaning and portering teams. You will maintain the professional image of the GWS technical team, oversee various Soft Services including Security, Catering, Grounds, Pest Control, Waste, and Technical representatives after hours. As the point of contact for all soft service delivery, you will manage shift workloads, ensure effective communication during handovers, maintain e-logbooks, coordinate with other FM Workplace Solutions providers, and provide timely customer feedback.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and follow Safe System of Work for team members.
  • Lead shift training, share lessons learned, and operate critical plant as authorised.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety processes for all work.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, assessments, and audits as needed.
  • Adhere to GWS business processes and financial approvals.
  • Maintain budgetary control on expenses.
  • Focus on delivering FM Operations per KPIs and output measurements.
  • Monitor and support third-party maintenance activities, reporting corrective actions.
  • Comply with QHSE requirements and report all incidents.
  • Ensure contractors follow H&S processes and client HSE standards.
  • Conduct monthly self-assessment SLA checks.
  • Maintain site image and address any concerns.
  • Coordinate site waste and recycling.
  • Understand and address customer requirements, keeping them informed.
  • Act as deputy and provide cover as defined by line management.
  • Perform other individually defined activities and responsibilities.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Knowledge and awareness of the facilities management industry
  • Practical experience in working with supply partners to deliver a seamless, integrated service
  • Excellent IT literacy skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point Self-motivated and resourceful
  • Ability to manage and understand catering and security processes.
  • Good administrative skills
  • Well organised with excellent time keeping
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate team
  • Good prioritisation and planning skills
  • Customer services experience
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
