Your role at a glance
Would you like the opportunity to join a growing Software Asset Management team in a FTSE 100 business?
Due to exciting growth, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for a commercially minded and self-sufficient individual, with Software Asset Management experience, to join our Supplier Management function as a Software Asset Manager - Execution.
In this exciting role you'll be responsible for managing Software Asset estate for the Group across assigned business unit(s), to ensure risk mitigation and commercial opportunities across licenced software products are achieved. You'll work to ensure compliance with licencing terms and entitlement through interaction with stakeholders within IT, the wider business and relevant 3rd parties. Finally, you'll support the SAM Lead with compliance to the Software Usage policy and procedures to ensure they are up to date, fit for purpose and available across the group to the wider IT community.

What you'll be doing
  • Manage software entitlement ensuring all inventories and changes are managed robustly and in compliance with licencing terms and policies always. Actively engage with stakeholder community to ensure that risks and opportunities are understood and actioned appropriately.
  • Implement improvements to the performance of the existing and potential software base, to drive innovation in processes, reduce costs through decommissioning unused software, reduce risks, improve performance, and stimulate competition between qualified suppliers.
  • Maintain and build business relationships with Software Asset Management, aligned Supplier Relationship Managers, Sourcing Managers and Legal and General partners involved in the delivery of Software Asset Management Services to ensure that optimal pricing and deployment models are secured and service KPIs are met
  • Represent SAM team across allocated IT teams and business units. To work with Procurement and SRM community to avoid overlap, maintain interworking opportunities, and best practise application.
  • Ensure all Asset Management activity is carried out in line with the company's consumer duty accountability.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you'll be a self-starter, that enjoys take ownership of your work. You'll be working with a variety of stakeholders so your adaptability and communication skills will be key. There's a lot of opportunity in this role to work with data, so a data driven approach and an interest in data analytics would be highly beneficial.
Here's some of the experience and skills that we'd love to see:
  • Experience of working in a Software Asset Management function or equivalent IT team.
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders and peers across organisational boundaries.
  • Good knowledge of techniques to optimise licensing and deployment in order to mitigate risk and deliver savings and efficiencies
  • Experience in supporting policy and process changes in relation to Software Asset management
  • Basic understanding contract law sufficiently to be able to identify risks, gaps and opportunities and to be able to ensure software license compliance (desirable)
  • Experience with Service Now would be highly beneficial.
