This Software Compliance Analyst will report to the IT Hardware and Software Asset Manager and will work within the Information Systems; Commercial Team based in our Bury St Edmunds office. You will be a permanent employee.

You will attract a salary of 34,000.00 and a bonus of 7.5%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) – 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job Purpose:

UK Power Networks is the leading Distributed Network Operator (DNO), with the ambition on supporting the transition to Net Zero at the lowest possible costs to customers.

Reporting to the IT Hardware and Software Asset Manager, the purpose of the Software Compliance Analyst’s role is to help ensure overall optimisation of our software licensing estate.

You will be involved in the end-to-end software life cycle which includes procurement, allocation, maintenance and utilization of licenses.

Dimensions

Provide support in managing approximately 200 vendors.

Responsibilities

To provide support to the Software Compliance Manager in all areas of Software Compliance.

We are looking for someone with administration, organisational and analytical skills to help keep UK Power Networks compliant, contracts up to date and being cost efficient.

This position is based in Bury St. Edmunds. You will perform relevant duties. This can include:

  • Understand the critical IT services,
  • Maintain existing database with Software licensing information using a variety of sources such as Microsoft Intune, AD Groups and license documents.
  • Manage software requests
  • Assist in the renewal and procurement of software for our large account reseller
  • Work with our IT partners to gather license deployment & usage data
  • Compile analysis on license positions including
  • Current compliance position
  • Recommended actions
  • Timeline for actions to be complete
  • Ensure records are kept to support any vendor audits
  • Identify process improvements

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience working in an IT Department working with data analytics.
  • Experience managing small projects and gathering requirements.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with both internal and external partners
  • Dedicated to the demands of providing reliable data to ensure we are compliant in all areas of Software Compliance.
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills especially Excel, TEAMS and PowerBI.
  • Understanding of license terminology desirable but not essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with ITIL and ITSM processes.
  • Familiar with Software Licensing
  • Familiarity with Service Now & InTune.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time and follow through with assignments.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Nature of this department is representing UKPN’s IS Department in all aspects of Support to the business’s user community. To instil user confidence in the IS Department’s ability to provide and support the best possible solution. To bring previous experience to the role, work with the IS Department to effect improvement.
