Salary: Circa £50,000 to 65,000 (depending on experience)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work. However, due to the secure classification of the work for this role and the network access, you will be required 4 days per week in the office, as a minimum.

Software Engineer (Ada)
We’re a driven team with a passion for software and its successful deployment in battlespace weapon systems. We work on technology that is at the forefront of European missile system design, delivering safe, secure, and reliable products to our customers.
We are looking for a capable, adaptable and inquisitive Software Engineer to join a small hard-working team to develop Launch Management and In-Flight Data Link solutions for the next generation of advanced air defence systems. We want someone who can work with us to develop the next generation of products whilst maintaining our enviable reputation for safety, performance and dependability.
Working with innovative technologies across a range of land and maritime defence projects.
Developing solutions targeting a large range of problems from system solutions to integration of in-canister and in-flight missiles in a complex and co-operative engagement environment.
This role provides a great opportunity for someone wanting to be involved in many differing areas of software.
Working across multiple applications on numerous projects in the systems software department, this role allows for involvement in many of the most advanced missile and air defence systems in the world, across multiple domains.
MBDA Software Engineering (SE) has an internal SE University, created and delivered by MBDA Software Engineers to optimally manage and share key knowledge and skills.
What we’re looking for from you:
- A solid background in Software Engineering.
- Experience with C++, Ada or C.
- Experience working with a UML based design tool. E.g. Rhapsody.
- A passion for Software Engineering, be able to innovate, and think critically to solve complex software problems.
- A willingness to develop software skillsets either through on the job, or formal training.
- A desire to design, develop, implement and test modular and scalable code with considerations for safety, security and software development policies.
- Comfortable working with a team in a collaborative environment, communicating and contributing to design and implementation decisions, and supporting with integration.
- Knowledge of external standards such as DefStan 00-55 and MISRA would be beneficial, but not crucial.
