Software Engineer - Python/Sql

Python Developer
Location: London (Hybrid Remote - 3 days on site)
We're seeking a skilled Python Developer to join our financial client in London, contributing expertise in SQL, Python, and ideally, Javascript & VBA. This role involves crafting innovative solutions and harnessing diverse AWS services.
Key Requirements:
Proficient in SQL and Python programming
Extensive knowledge of AWS services: EC2, Lambda, Aurora, S3
Competency in containerization technologies (e.g., AWS ECS, Kubernetes)
Understanding data paradigms like stream processing (Kafka/Kinesis, Apache Flink)
Familiarity with AWS security practices, IAM, encryption, and network security configurations
Experience managing data engineering pipelines using Apache Airflow
Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automation via AWS Code Pipeline
Git proficiency for version control (branching strategies and repo management)
Competent in monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools like Terraform
Knowledge of AWS backup and disaster recovery solutionsPreferred Skills:
Proficiency in React, Angular, Node.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Exposure to Agile, Kanban, Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD tools
Strong problem-solving abilities and logical reasoning skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Effective team collaboration and self-management capabilities
Exceptional attention to detail and adept at handling conflicting perspectives
Proficient in Microsoft ExcelDesired Skills (Optional):
Experience with C# programming
Understanding of low-latency trading infrastructure
Proficiency in crafting RESTful APIs and using data visualisation tools like Power BI/Tableau
