Software Engineering Director

Purpose of the job

1. The role will lead the Software Engineering COE, the DevOps COE, and the API/Integration team.
2. The Software Engineering COE will define and govern compliance to standards for Software Engineering.
3. The DevOps COE will define and govern compliance to standards for DevOps. The COE will also own the tools needed to support DevOps.
4. The API / Integration team builds the APIs and Integrations for AXA PH. The team also drives the modernization.

Key accountabilities

 

• Software Engineering COE
  1. Define the standards for Software Engineering in AXA PH
  2. Enable and equip software engineers
  3. Monitor compliance to the standards
  4. Act on non-compliance / issues as identified
  5. Improvement on application compliance on Architecture standards and Technology debt
• DevOps COE
  1. Define the standards for DevOps in AXA PH
  2. Enable and equip product teams
  3. Drive adoption of priority tools
  4. Monitor compliance to the standards
  5. Act on non-compliance / issues as identified
  6. Internal experts on value stream mapping
  7. Manage the landscape, particularly non-prod
• API / Integration team
  1. Ensure that existing APIs/Integrations run smoothly
  2. Identify areas for modernization and improvement
  3. Drive the integration modernization project, collaborating with solution architect and asset teams  
  4. Provide technical leadership to team through coaching and mentorship.

 

 

Your Profile

• 10+ years experience in software development
• 5+ years leading and managing a team
• 5+ years experience in IT across at least 2 disciplines (operations, development, solution architecture, project management)
• Excellent communication (written and verbal); availability to thrive in a fast paced, rapid changing environment
• High level understanding of the other technology domains such as:
  • Data (data warehousing, ETL, data visualization)
  • Cloud and Infra
  • Integration and API management
  • Information security
  • Experience in the Insurance or Banking industry is preferred
