What you will be doing
As a Software Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for multiple Agile software delivery teams.
You will be one of 2 types of people:
- A technical leader, with proven software development/architecture/leadership experience, as well as people management.
- You will have around 10 direct reports, and be partly responsible for technical direction, as well as people management.
- You will be a technical point of escalation for your reports.
- A people leader, with proven people management experience working in an Agile software environment.
- You will have around 20 direct reports.
- Your focus will be on supporting and improving both the people and processes of your teams.
- You will have the support of senior technical resources, to help with any technical escalations.
Ultimately, whichever type of person you are, you will be responsible for your teams’ delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management of multiple diverse software development teams including developers, scrum masters, testers, and UX designers.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination within the team.
- Enable the team to deliver projects on time and in accordance with quality standards.
- Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement in processes and workflows.
- Mentor and support team members in their professional development.
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience of at least 1 year in a leadership role within a technical environment.
- Previous experience of at least 3 years with at least one of the roles within the team (developer, scrum master, tester, or UX designer).

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve goals.
- Focus on results and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Desirable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related subject
- PSM, Prince2, or equivalent Project Management related qualifications
